Frequently asked questions
These answers cover what people ask us most, in plain language — they’re here to help, not to be the fine print. The Official Rules are the final word on how the giveaway works, and if anything here reads differently, the rules govern.
No. The giveaway is open to Texas residents 18+, and the pool can be installed at any eligible residential property in Texas that passes our site review. If you’re curious whether your yard would qualify, get in touch anytime — but you don’t need to before entering.
You can enter — entry is open to any eligible Texas resident. To actually receive the pool, the install property’s owner (every owner, if there’s more than one) has to sign off in writing. So if your landlord’s on board, you’re in business.
Sure. You’ll just need an eligible spot for this one, and the property still has to pass the site feasibility review.
Before the prize is awarded, the winner’s property goes through a site feasibility review. If the yard can’t reasonably take a Classic — access, slope, permits, easements, that kind of thing — we select an alternate winner per the Official Rules.
Our standard Classic: a 12' x 22' gunite pool with Lueder stone coping, micro-pebble plaster, Jandy equipment, plans, permitting, excavation, construction, startup, and a month of cleaning. Approximate retail value $60,000. Add-ons and upgrades aren’t included (though the winner can purchase them separately if they’d like).
No. The prize is non-transferable and has no cash value — it’s a pool, built by us, at the winner’s eligible Texas property.
The pool’s value counts as income to the winner, and taxes are the winner’s responsibility — we’re required to report the prize to the IRS. Talk to a tax professional before accepting; the Official Rules spell this out.
At least 5,000 people need to enter for the drawing to occur. If we come up short, we can choose to hold the drawing anyway — that choice only ever works in entrants’ favor. Either way, we’ll announce what’s happening on or about October 3, 2026, here and on Instagram.
At random, from every qualifying entry, using a cryptographically secure random draw in a recorded session — on or about October 3, 2026. The selected entrant is verified (identity, residency, property, feasibility, and — for comment entries — the like) before being confirmed as the winner. Full process is in the Official Rules.
We’ll contact the potential winner by DM from @goldenhourpools and, if you entered on the website, by email or phone. If you entered by commenting, verification is also when we confirm the Instagram steps that go with that entry — your like, follow, and share — alongside the property review, so keep them in place and hang onto a screenshot of your share. We will never ask you to pay anything to claim the prize — any message that does is a scam. The confirmed winner is announced on our Instagram and on this page.
